Magnetic Hill OR Gravity Hill - A visual illusion.........

Magnetic Hill also called "Gravity Hill" is located near Leh in Ladakh, India, invites you for a great experience for an amazing phenomenon of nature.



Location:
The “Magnetic Hill” is located on the Leh-Kargil-Srinagar national highway, about 30 km from Leh, at a height of 11,000 feet above sea level

On its south side flows the Indus, which originates in Tibet and goes to Pakistan


Popular For:
The magnetic hill has become a popular stop for domestic tourists on car journeys and for Bike Riders. 


What Happens?
The alignment of the road with the slope of the background can give the illusion that cars may drift upwards.
For those of you who are thinking ‘The movement must have been due to the downhill descent and it was just following the rules of gravity.’ Turn your car in the opposite direction and repeat the steps. It will start moving uphill!

Magnetic hill is one of the rarest attraction that one can experience at Leh.
A Signage is there to help the travelers to recognize the Magnetic Hill. The signage explains the phenomenon so that we can enjoy the experience in first hand.
